Myya Pmore Host Of Halo TV & Much More!
Born in Miami Florida, of African-American descent Myya’s interest in journalism piqued at Miami Northwestern High as she positioned herself to lead her school publication, The Northwesterner, as its Editor-In-Chief. Through all of this, Myya faced some nearly insurmountable challenges, yet she persevered and maintained her high academic standing and by the end of the school year she led the school paper to the highest number of published editions in school history—five .
She went on to receive her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Florida’s prestigious school of journalism majoring in Telecommunication News, with a minor in African Studies. As an undergraduate she held several positions at WUFT-FM, Gainesville’s National Public Radio affiliate for three years. These positions included producing, general assignment reporting, jazz announcing, and hosting for “All Things Considered”. In addition, Myya worked at both of Gainesville’s locally originating television news stations as a general assignment reporter, fill-in anchor, and an assignment desk editor for two years. She also gained experience in AM news at WRUF-AM and helped launch a socially conscious radio program called “Truth Be Told” for Gainesville’s WGOT-FM.
Her impressive list of people she has interviewed includes: Reverend Jesse Jackson, Senator Bob Graham, Tracee Ellis Ross, Ambassador Andrew Young, UF President Bernie Machen, CNN Anchor T.J Holmes, and U.S Senator Mel Martinez. To date, Myya is currently completing her Masters degree in Global Strategic Communications, and currently works as a Media Relations Manager for a non-profit organization for children.
