Wilameana Jones AKA Empress R.A.W

Right now the music industry is lacking from a void of femcees. The Empress R.A.W is ready able and willing to bridge that gap. Wilameana Jones a.k.a. Empress R.A.W was born and raised in Miami FL, by parents of Jamaican decent. For the past few years she has been grinding through the music industry destine to make her mark as the next female rap superstar! Her music is directly influenced from her diverse background and real life experiences. Her sound is three dimensional, a sharp unique hip- hop edge with a southern/Caribbean twist. She moved to Atlanta from Florida to take advantage of the fast growing music scene while attending Georgia State University.

As an intern for Stankonia studios she was able to gain insight on how a label works from behind the scenes. She decided that education was imperative and obtained a degree from Georgia State University in Journalism and Public Relations. It was at this university where she learned how to use pro-tools and recorded her first mix cd entitled Boot Camp Vol.I. with special appearances from Killer Mike, Roc D., EVAL styles, and Naira. Since then she has recorded five mix cd’s and two DVD’s that gave you an up-close and personal glimpse into her world. “I am the Empress because I hold my own imperial title. I had to make major moves by myself to gain respect as an upcoming female artist.” With a college degree under her belt, several guest appearances on upcoming artist projects and winning several talent shows in Atlanta she decided that it was time to move back to her hometown to become the first lady of Dade County. “I have been blessed to be multifaceted, and multitalented. I’m not the average artist that sits around and waits on people to make moves for me. God gives me the vision and I move accordingly.”

Empress R.A.W is definitely a trendsetter with her own sense of style. Her lyrics are animated with a mix of street, conscious and a hint of soul. She is carving a niche and a lane of her own which will be hard to imitate. “I want to be able to serve as a positive role model for the youth and my goals stretch further than being a local success. “I want to be a global success, an ultimate entertainer, entrepreneur, business woman, model, actress, and spokesperson, everything this industry has to offer. I’m waiting for people to catch up; I’ve been blessed to accomplish many things with minimum help. Now I’m ready to
